The Handy Man

My husband is one of the best in all the land
But his do-it-your-selfing leaves a lot to understand.
"I can fix it love" is what he'll say,
"Here let me look", has he got it the right way?
I just hold my breath and stroke his hair,
I think we might be in need of a prayer.
Will he be fixing the plumbing or mending his car?
Whatever he does, it won't be on a par
With plumbers and electricians who might unite
To keep his do-it-your-selfing out of "site".
But in the end, he does mean well,
And when something works you can see him swell
I say to him,"Darling haven't you done well"
Till the next do-it-your-selfing, I love him - can't you tell.
